JOIN US FOR A WEEK OF RIGHTEOUS RESISTANCE (WORR) TO BEGIN SUNDAY, JULY 12 AND END SATURDAY, JULY 18
My eyes fail from weeping, I am in torment within; my heart is poured out on the ground because my people are destroyed, because children and infants faint in the streets of the city.”–Lamentations 2:11
We enter this holiday weekend mindful of the rash of very suspicious church burnings in several states. Many religious groups across the country from the Black Church tradition as well as other Christians, Muslims, Jews, Sikhs, Buddhists, Hindus, Humanists and faithful of other traditions are committing to respond to these church burnings with a series of actions that create opportunities to encounter, disrupt, reimagine and act together in public.
We are calling for a Week of Righteous Resistance (WORR) to begin Sunday, July 12 and end Saturday, July 18.
We are grateful for the creative collaboration of our partners, including the PICO Network LIVE FREE Campaign, Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference, Hands Up United, One Church Liturgy, Sojourners, Transform Network, Southern Movement Assembly, Urban Cusp, Kinetics and Voices Project. We are expecting other faith-rooted organizations and networks to partner with us in the coming days.
